The resort, established over twenty years ago, is nestled on fifteen hundred acres of private, secluded property and is located in the Southern Tablelands, along the Wollondilly River, approximately 200 kilometers South of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia. Families, couples, singles, children... Everyone is welcome at River Island!

People from all walks of life come to visit and enjoy the peaceful and natural settings of the resort. River Island has set a standard of clothing-optional, rather than nude, which results in patrons not feeling pressured to shed their clothes. Your hosts, Colin and Katina Sell, and the rest of the crew at River Island, look forward to seeing you and will make you feel more than welcome, whether you are visiting for just a day or staying for a few weeks.

The patrons at River Island, whether long time or first time visitors, all have one thing in common... the love of nature and the freedom in which to enjoy it... Naturally! Accommodation at River Island can vary depending on your own individual lifestyle, taste and budget. From family sized luxury cedar cabins overlooking the valley to grassed camp sites along the Wollondilly river, there is something to suit everyone.

Cedar cabins include a fully equipped modern kitchen, family room, bedroom, bathroom with twin showers, covered verandah complete with table and chairs, and a barbecue area. Caravans include a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom and a covered verandah, complete with table and chairs. Camping sites abound throughout River Island. All are grassed and many sites are sheltered under large trees.
