Australian Nudist Federation was founded in 1968, primarily to promote naturism/nudism on a national scale, and to encourage and promote interclub social and sporting activities. In the early 1970s it also undertook to campaign for legal nude beaches. The first success came with the declaration of Maslin Beach, South Australia, in 1975. Only nudist clubs, groups, resorts and businesses can be affiliated directly with the ANF. However, individual nudists who do not wish, or are not able, to join a club can join the ANF Supporter Club.

The Down To Earth Co-op Society has been organising ConFest (Conference/ Festival) for the last 26 years. We are a completely volunteer organisation. The first ConFest was held at Cotter River, ACT in 1976 with the aim of `transforming society. ConFest was started as an 'alternative living' festival in the 1970's. ConFest regularly attracts thousands of people from all cultures and backgrounds. DTE is not connected with any religion or political organisation.

Free Beach Action was convened in October 2005 by Sydney naturists as a response to new signs being posted on Little Congwong Beach by Randwick City Council, stating that it is NOT a nude beach, in spite of nearly 40 years tradition as a clothes-optional, or free beach. We call on all friends of Little Congwong Beach to support our action group to save the beach. |
